Tournament Program

You may have noticed that I have been updating other posts as more information becomes available (ie weather, venue pictures, mascot). I note the date of the most recent update in the post title to help readers identify the posts worth viewing.

This post contains some bits and pieces from the tournament program.

Equipment

Here are some of the Gateball equipment manufacturers that are expected to be selling their wares at the tournament (the links below run the websites through google translator).

Lonjoy

My personal favourites are the three holed shoes (that let you spark around corners) and the table top gateball set (below).

Referees

There will be 108 accredited international referees at the tournament from Brazil, China, Japan, Korea, Macau and Taiwan. The largest contributors are China (45) and Taiwan (27).

Players

There will be 703 competitors at the tournament. More detail is in the table below:

Gender tends not to be a factor in Gateball. The 2006 World Champions (Osaka Midori) comprised four men and two women.
